Home of the Emerald Valley Golf Club, Creswell was esablished in 1872.
Location & Early History
Creswell was established in 1872 with the opening of the first local store. It was named for John Creswell, the 23rd United States Postmaster General, and has featured a post office ever since.
Creswell is also home to the Emerald Valley Golf Club, built in 1966 by James & Eugene Russell. The course is now home to the University of Oregon golf team.
As of 2010, there were 5,031 residents. The city has a general aviation airport named Hobby Field, and also claims a few stops along the Lane County Transit bus service line.
